Why Did You Summon Me?

Chapter 188

They said a mighty body brings mighty mood. Baiyi felt that every cell in his body was compressed like a loaded spring with power. He was unbeatable in this condition!

“I’m unstoppable!” Baiyi’s husky and deep voice exclaimed in satisfaction. He sneered at the charging demons and calmly extended his right hand. “Begone!”

Baiyi killed all these cannon fodders without much difficulty. Once again, he cast a levitation spell and hovered in midair as he expanded his amplified Psychic Energy through the surroundings. Very quickly, he had already secured all 13 cracks in the realm within Arfin city.

Then, he started chanting as he placed his arms on his chest.

One after another, black formations rose from his chest and left him quickly as they flew to all sides. After a while, every crack was confined in the black formations as if they were in a tight black cage.

The demons that were emerging from the cracks did not even get a chance to react before they were sucked into the black formations, and their corpses were spat out.

Baiyi might not have the luxury of time to close each crack, but he could block every crack to ensure that the number of demons would not increase before he faced the Abyss Lord.

After sealing off all the cracks, the Soul Armature finally had the time to check out his new form, especially his physical appearance. When he felt his mighty muscles, he had assumed that he would look like a muscular hunk.

He was immediately thrown into disappointment when he finally saw his form. He screamed furiously in the Void, ” This... This is just a sphere!

It was exactly like he said. He was just a big round ball when seen with the naked eyes. His original body was wrapped tightly by black Void Energy. It covered his limbs making him look like a black fish ball.

Worse still, some useless flying cloth made out of black Void Energy was projected out of his forehead as it billowed in the wind...

What the hell is this ? I don’t understand its purpose other than scaling up the

moe factor! ” Baiyi complained unhappily in the Void.

“Your teacher had designed it to bring glad tidings of victory, you see,” the Scholar answered helpfully.

That old man’s taste is beyond reproach! He’s not pranking me, is he? Baiyi thought to himself. Too bad the Archmage had left the Void, or else he was going to interrogate him.

Baiyi felt slightly depressed after he reconfirmed that his current look was far from being mighty and cool. He soldiered on and made his way to the mage tower regardless... Uh, no. I can’t even walk. How about rolling?...Can’t do that either

Fine. He inched forward like a worm.

Meanwhile, the sinister presence within the mana furnace had reached its peak. The cacophonous laughter was so loud that even students who had long left the area could hear it. That meant that the monster would soon break out of its cocoon.

Mia turned her head gently in the direction of the mage tower. Her eyes were brimming with concern. Her normally pink cheeks had turned pale and beadsof sweat formed on her forehead because she was funneling power to Baiyi.

The hammerhead shark plushie hovered around her as it guided her using its Psychic Energy so that she could be a little more at ease.

However, Mia could not help but notice that the hammerhead shark was acting differently at this time. Moreover, it was acting distant with her. It went to Tisdale frequently as it circled around her for a while and flew above her head, extending its short fin to try and pat Tisdale’s head.

Tisdale felt that something was different too. She kept thinking that the hammerhead shark no longer looked like little girl’s plushie. Instead, it resembled a wise sage who had been through thick and thin and was now trying to impart his knowledge to her

In the meantime, Laeticia, who was reunited with the students, seemed to be eagerly waiting for something. She held a gunlance in her hand as she weaved in and out of the crowd. It seemed like she was looking for something.

After a while, she arrived before Mia. She looked at the formation on the girl’s hand. She could feel a surge of warm and gentle power emanating from it. At the same time, she could feel a tense energy combating a torrent of evil and revolting energy from afar. She knew that was Baiyi fighting the enemies.

“Hello, friends.” Laeticia immediately approached the twin girls. A soft smile was etched on her face.

Talking to a stranger without an invitation was almost always a bad choice since it was usually sudden and awkward.

Mia and Tisdale found themselves grinning and nodding their heads. Perhaps it was due to her smile and the aura of pureness that she exuded. However, Attie was still warily observing the girl as she hid behind Tisdale.

“Will you allow me to protect you, please?” Laeticia asked politely.

Mia and Tisdale were slightly bemused by her request, but they could not reject her request. A weird thought circled in their head, Mr. Hope/Sir didn’t abduct another beautiful maiden from somewhere again, right?

Meanwhile, the Soul Armature, whom the beautiful girls were thinking about, was not as gallant as they imagined him to be. He did not expect to encounter two qualified opponents: a mud-yellow and reptile-like monster, and an Oblivion Knight in an archaic armor.

“You’re a worthy opponent. You may call me Lord de Sies,” the Oblivion Knight announced to Baiyi’s face as he clutched a broadsword that was engulfed in burning green flames. His free hand held a ball of luminous green energy. His voice was hoarse and ancient, and his head was covered by a decrepit helmet that obscured his face. “I do not kill those with no name. So, tell me, who are you?”

According to records, oblivion knights evolved from human knights after they had been corrupted to a certain point. They usually retained their past strengths and bad habits. Bad habits such as announcing their own names before a fight and expecting others to do the same.

Baiyi did not answer him. The two enemies he encountered were different from all the other demons level-wise. Their strengths were similar to a human’s Immortal-level or more precisely, they were closer to the Holy-level. Worse still, Baiyi’s eyes spied a familiar enhancement mark of strength tattoed on their chests similar to the one Tiamat had.

In other words, Baiyi might be facing two Holy-level foes at the same time. That was why he had no plans to disclose his name. Instead, he wasted no time in employing Voidwave.

A wave of formless and soundless energy knocked on the two demons’ bodies. The two demons werestunned. They looked at each other when they realized that they were being attacked. However, judging from how unaffected they were, could it be that this all-encompassing ranged attack had failed?

This could only mean that these two were protected by an impenetrable energy shield, and the wave of energy did not break the line of defense and inflict injury.

“Hmph, you annoying savage!” The Obsidian Knight who had called himself Lord de Seis was livid as he shouted. He rushed forward with his flaming green sword. On the other side, the reptilian beast let out a cry filled with rage and started charging towards Baiyi.

Lister the Tormentor was the name of the reptilian-like monster. It was one of the advanced breeds of demons. They might not be lookers, but the toughness of their skin was the most durable among all demons. They were hard-hitters with incredible speed, and they possessed cunning wits. When it was closing in on Baiyi, his gigantic mouth opened and spat out green, diabolic flames.

Compared to the Oblivion Knight’s remarkable swordplay, the gigantic lizard would be a lot harder to destroy

Fortunately, Baiyi’s current state was not too bad if he had to face the both of them directly. He might look like a lump of meatball, but his current attack and defense were impeccable. He could fight the gigantic lizard’s might with his own might and receive the knight’s combat chi blade with his own skin.

This fight between a knight, a dinosaur, and a meatball had been going on for a few minutes. Their powers had obliterated their surrounding into ruins. The two advanced-level demons were smart enough to realize that in a battle between masters, there was no chance for the fledglings. Due to that, they forbade their own subjects from joining in the fray.

However, something was slightly bothering Baiyi. The two foes had demonstrated considerable immunity against Void Energy. That was unbelievable. Even if Void Energy could be blocked by all kinds of energy shields and barriers, the power would still exhaust both the Void Energy and the energy of the shields, too. An offense employing such a force should have gained them the upper hand or at least compelled the two to focus their efforts on defense. Instead, they disregarded Baiyi’s attack and were enthusiastically attacking Baiyi.

It was too bad their attacks could not breach Baiyi’s defense either. The Soul Armature’s epidermis was laced with Black Flame that automatically burnt every attack that approached him. The broadsword on the Oblivion Knight’s hand had already been melted in half while the dinosaur’s horns were gone.

It seemed the match was a tie?

This was not what Baiyi had hoped for. It was not that he had no better moves. It was just that those would demand an even higher power input. The more he used them, the more he was asking from Mia, and the less time he had to sustain his current mode.

Their defense is not their own! Baiyi realized as he dodged their attacks and scanned the surroundings with his Psychic Energy. Just as he thought, he could feel wisps of energy vibration rising from the mage tower and into the two demons’ bodies.
