Why Did You Summon Me?

Chapter 147

Impossible! Baiyi promptly retorted, Mia is kind in nature. She’s way cuter and more obedient than Attie is. Attie is quite hostile towards me and right now, she’s just forced to give in to me. Then again, what do you mean by my way of treating Mia? I treat her normally, don’t I?

Erm, hello? Normal, you said? You’re practically babying her you know? And I think if you really have the power to shrink her, you’d probably shrink her to a small pocket size and carry her in that armored tummy of yours everywhere with you! Many of the Voidwalkers thought secretly to themselves.

In short, it was still pretty hard to get into Attie’s good grace. Especially after the few missteps that he made beforehand, he had just worsen her impression towards him and he had no other choice other than to leave the matter aside for the moment. What was more important was the glider.

So, for the next two days, Baiyi put all of his mind into that piles of wood in the yard. The three girls were well behaved and did not give him any more trouble. On the third day, a brand new glider finally appeared in front of everyone.

The glider was around 1.5 meters long and the wingspan was nearly 2 meters each, it was shaped in a triangular structure, in reference to the aerodynamic theory from Earth. Unlike the original idea of using animal hides for the skin covering the glider, Baiyi chose to use a magical formation that substituted the hides to cover the triangular wing frame with a layer of magic.

It would help reduce the weight of the glider and made it more lightweight and agile, allowing it to increased its carrying capacity and mileage. Not only that, it be easier to transport and assemble. At the same time, it would decrease the service life and increase the production cost, making it harder for other people to imitate his creation.

It also meant that the project would stay in Baiyi’s hand more securely and he would get more income as well. Still, he believed that no matter how much share he demanded from Undine, she would never say no to him.

Finally, Baiyi searched for some paint from Tisdale’s workshop and painted the whole glider in a beautiful silverish white color. From the appearance, it gave off a very elegant and exquisite look, he was sure that it would fetch a good price in the market.

Seeing his blueprint finally materialized in front of his eyes, the Engineer was especially excited. Delighted, he chortled, “Let’s give this baby a name, shall we? Let’s see... Hmm how aboutDevastator 1 or Globemaster 2 ?”

Come on! This is only a cheap low-quality glider, okay? Even though you are the one who invented it, but don’t you think you think too highly of it?

“This name is too ordinary! Since it’s an epoch-making invention, we have to name it something much grander! I think it should be called a Raptor 3 or Firebolt!

Why did our transport plane suddenly turn into a fighter jet now? You are thinking too much, okay?!

“Isn’t this ordinary as well? I vote Jackdraw 4 !”

Excuse me, that is a ship’s name you idiot! What the hell are you thinking?

“Ahh, that name is too common! It should be called Aeon or Erebus!

“I prefer the name Pride of Hiigara 5 !”

” Spear of Adun 6 is the best name ever!”

You guys are all crazy!

“Guys! Please stop fighting! Listen to me please,” The Thane suddenly chimed in, “As a feudal lord who had participated in many naming ceremonies before, I have a very professional opinion. You guys should have faith in my professionalism. Okay, we should not give such a specific name to this kind of mass production item. You know why? Because there are many more to come in the future! The most appropriate naming method is by using number as coding.”

Oh, that sounds quite plausible! Baiyi chuckled to himself, At least his naming skill is way better than a certain childish emperor.

The Thane continued to say, “I have created a code name for this glider, it’s called ZGMF101A 7 . For our future inventions, we can just continue the number and isn’t it more convenient for us?”

Sigh... I should have known! All of the Voidwalkers are not reliable at all! From a transport plane to a fighter jet and now we have gundam as well?

As the Walkers continued to argue in the Void, Mia and the two other girls also noticed Baiyi’s work and began to clamor around him.

“Is this the ‘plane’ thingy that you were talking about, Sir?” Tisdale asked as she admired the glider, “It looks really special! Can it really fly?” She reached out a hand trying to touch the body of the glider.

“DON’T! The paint is still wet!” Baiyi quickly grabbed her hand, at the same time he used his Mana to pull Mia back from the glider. That little girl almost used her face to rub the glider’s body just now. I-Is she okay? She actually wanted to snuggle up to that glider? I suppose she finds the glider cute then...

He continued to explain, “Technically, it doesn’t fly, it glides.”

“What a pity, I wanted to give it a try!” Mia let out a sigh of disappointment and rubbed her face against Baiyi’s hand.

Why does this girl like to snuggle so much?

“Tisdale, could I trouble you to inform Undine that the thing that she needs is already prepared, please?” Baiyi said before glancing at Mia and Attie. “Bring Mia along with you as well.”

Hearing that, Mia quickly entered the house again to find her sunhat and Tisdale searched for her umbrella. Happily, the two of them left the mansion, leaving Attie alone behind, as she watched the back of the two disappearing silhouettes with envy.

In truth, Baiyi did not want to risk sending Attie over to Undine’s house. Who knew what the Dole family would do to her when they saw her— skinning her alive, perhaps?

Now that the house had already been swept clean and her two playmates were gone, Attie suddenly found herself to be quite idle. Bored, she crouched down at the garden wanting to touch the little plants that Baiyi had just bought.

“DON’T!” Baiyi immediately stopped her. The few pots of plants were Baiyi’s most precious possessions other than Mia and Tisdale. Mia even had her cheeks pinched before by him when she tried to play with them one time.

“If you feel bored then take a look at this,” Baiyi handed her a booklet that he had wrote in the last few nights.

“This is...?” Curious, she opened it. The booklet was densely covered in words in the common language, eliciting a confused look from her as there were many words that she did not recognize. Although she understood the common language and was quite well-versed in conversations, she did not know all of the words.

However, from the few words that she knew, she recognized what the booklet was about. It was methods to train one’s Chi prowess. Taken aback, she looked up at Baiyi and asked him in a doubtful voice, “M-Master, are you trying to teach me the Southerner’s Chi prowess?”

Actually, there was a set of Chi training system in the Steppe but compared to the one in the Southland, the one they had was inferior. Ever since she had witnessed the Bladestorm that was released by the black Soul Armature, there was a growing interest in her towards the combat style of the Southerners.

According to her previous plan, she would need to fight for the power forcefully but who knew that before she even did anything, Baiyi had already taken the initiative to give it to her freely.

“I don’t pay you any wages so of course I need to give you something in return for your hardwork, right? You look like you’re not suitable for magic so this is all that I can give you,” Baiyi made up a random reason that sounded the most logical.

I-Is this a trap? Or a tactic to lower my guard? Attie began to wonder secretly. Still, this training methods seem to be legit! It doesn’t look like this demon has tampered with the booklet.

Because of the care that Baiyi had shown her beforehand, she could not help but believed him a little although there was still some slight hostility towards him in her heart. Perhaps he was not quite as bad as she thought?

“B-But Master... I don’t r-really know all of the words here,” Attie murmured.

“This is simple, I’ll teach you!” Baiyi consoled her and brought Attie back to his room. After they had entered, he shut the door and like how he used to teach Mia, he began to give Attie a lesson on the words that she did not understand.

He taught her in a serious manner and Attie learnt very quickly as well— way better than Mia who would always lose her focus during class. Coupled with the fact that she understood most words in the common language, she managed to learn everything in a short period of time. By the time Mia came back with her hands full of gifts, Attie could already read the booklet all by herself.

“Alright, let’s continue tomorrow,” Habitually, Baiyi stroked Attie’s head.

Because Attie had her mind focused on the booklet in front of her, she did not respond to him nor did she try to evade his touch.

Noticing this, Baiyi poked her face and she finally came to her senses again. Quickly, she carefully put the booklet aside and ran towards the door to welcome Mia and Tisdale.

Seeing how Attie valued the booklet about the most basic Chi training so much, Baiyi felt delighted and followed her out to welcome the duo.

As soon as Tisdale saw Baiyi, she immediately said, “Teacher, we saw Sister Undine just now. She said that she will come visit you tomorrow!”

Baiyi nodded his head to indicate that he understood. Turning his head aside, he looked at Mia. Ever since the girl came back and greeted him, she was busy sharing the things that she got from the Dole family with Attie. Other than sweets, snacks and so on, there was even one fluffy cat plushie among the gifts.

“Attie, you seem to like cat very much so I’ll just give this to you!” Mia generously stuffed the plushie into Attie’s arms. Casually, she took out her hammerhead shark doll that had never left her side.

Baiyi did not know whether the things were bought by the two of them or were given by Undine, but after watching Tisdale appreciating the new black lacy fabrics in front of him, he was certain that they were definitely given by Undine. He did not think that Tisdale would be so bold to buy such things for herself.

A beautiful girl admiring her intimate sexy clothing and two equally lovely girls that were of different characteristics were holding two different plushies together... What a lovely harmonious sight it was. Still, when Baiyi looked at the hammerhead shark doll, although there was no changes physically, somehow he felt that the shark was looking down at the cat with its eyes full of disdain as if it was saying, “Tsk! You peasant!”.

W-Was that an illusion? Baiyi shook his head as he wondered.
