Chapter 163: “So Troublesome, So Troublesome.”
There was one matter where Ancil was correct on though.
And that was, a prodigy like Lucy was already a miracle. She had literally been only once in a thousand years. For someone who could match her to be born elsewhere and still be unheard of is indeed something rather suspicious.
Back when Lucy was born, her magic power had shaken the gods and the goddess of fate, one of the three great goddesses, personally descended, an event that shook all three worlds.
And Shien?
He really did just appear right out of nowhere. There was just far too many suspicious parts about him.
Especially given that Ancil and Aldia had personally witnessed the clash between Shien and Lucy\'s [Magic Swords]. That might, that magic power. Even now, both could still clearly picture it.
If Shien, who was capable of such things, were to have been born in this world, then he\'d at the very least have been met with the same treatment as Lucy did.
Namely, it would have been impossible for an existence on the level of the three great goddesses to not have moved.
In that case, why then had such a prodigy been unknown until now?
(Even if he didn\'t have a unique skill like Lucy and lacked the ability to attract the attention of the three great goddesses, he should have still attracted some attention from the gods, and they\'d have at least sent a high class god down to bless him, right?"
The gods had always been quite caring of the mortal races.
For one, the mortals were all life forms crated by the gods. To the gods, mortals were basically something like their children. Whenever a very talented child was born, generally goddesses would definitely detect them.
For two, mortals don\'t have the same great abilities or might like gods or demons, but due to the vast population advantage, they would often produce someone powerful every now and again who won\'t lose out to the stronger gods or demons.
Take Lucy or Aldia. Both of them have been recognized by the gods and demons. Both were greatly respected by both sides thanks to their might.
This was especially true for humans. They\'re not like elves with their natural born talent for magic, nor were they like dwarves or beastmen who have great physical prowess. From a racial perspective, one could say that they\'re the weakest race. However, even though they don\'t have any of the advantages that the other races do, every so often they\'d always produce someone of outstanding talent who would shock all three races. Thus, the gods always paid the greatest amount of attention to humanity.
In the ancient war between the gods and demons, the race that helped the gods the most, the race that threatened the demons the most, was not the elves, beastmen, or dwarves. Rather, it\'s the race public ally considered the least remarkable, the humans.
Due to their great population, they\'d often produce someone of outstanding talent. Thus, the treat humanity posed to demons, from a certain point of view, could be considered even greater than the gods.
That said, such people still had their limits. Even if their population was large and could produce great prodigies, they\'ve never really produced someone on the same level as the three great goddesses. If not for that, perhaps humans as a race could have been considered the equal to the gods and demons.
Of course, existences on the level of the three great goddesses or six great demon lords were basically impossible to produce. Not even the gods or demons have produced more existences on that level. Thus the fact that humanity has never produced existences of that level is quite understandable.
Pretty much the only exception to that is probably the Hero.
The Hero is the only existence that can break through the limits of one\'s race and truly reach the same level as the three great goddesses and six great demon lords.
That\'s why Heroes were called the hope granted by heaven itself.
And such Heroes have always been humans.
Given all that, humans have a rather special status in the world. The weak ones are really weak, while the strong are super strong. Thus, they\'ve always been a matter of high importance to the gods and demons.
That\'s why the moment someone of outstanding talent is born, the gods will discover them immediately and send someone down to give their blessing.
Even if Shien didn\'t have a powerful unique skill like Lucy, his existence still should have alarmed the gods, who would have sent a high class god down at the very least. So how was it that he had gone unnoticed until now?
For that reason, Ancil indeed had some thoughts of probing Shien for some details.
Unfortunately, due to Shien acting completely closed off, his attempts were of limited use.
(It looks like all I can do is send people to do some investigating.)
Thus, Ancil had no choice but to give up and change the subject.
"Speaking of, it seems we did get a notice that your prisoner transport squad from Lamdrion had arrived here at the capital." Ancil looked at Vivian, "Although I\'ve already heard the basic gist of the matter, I do hope to hear the full details of it from the people involved."
The King seemed to have quite a bit of his attention on the Old Demon Faction matter.
"That said, the full detailed report should wait until the official audience. The one in charge from your side seems to be the third son of Marquis Murrow right?" Ancil rubbed at his chin, "It\'s rather against the rules to just toss him aside and listen to your reports. The other nobles have quite a bit of attention on this matter as well, so they likely want to hear the details too. Thus, your audience should be happening soon, so make sure to properly prepare, got it?"
"Yes." Vivian nodded seriously.
It seems like the mater here is basically over now.
"As for the matter at the palace training ground, I\'ll suppress the information." Ancil stated with a smile, "Although there\'s no way to do so completely, so the nobles in the capital will definitely heard the news. However, Sir Shien\'s existence at the very least won\'t be exposed to the common folk, so you can stand relieved on that front."
In response to that, putting aside everyone else, Shien rather wanted to complain at it.
Basically, in other words, his existence would be completely exposed among the nobility right?
This made Shien want to take a page out of Lucy\'s book and go "ah, so troublesome, so troublesome."
Damn it, this is all that useless princess\'s fault.
Shien silently gave Lucy a glare.
Lucy seemed to be self aware, so she awkwardly averted her gaze.
If not for the fact that she went overboard, the matter wouldn\'t have ended up exploding to such a state.
That said, the milk\'s already spilled, so there\'s no point in crying over it.
Utilizing his great adaptability, Shien, while still muttering in his mind, had stood up with Vivian and the rest and got ready to leave.
In the corner, Diere had also got up and silently moved to leave.
At that moment…
"Are you not going to go back?"
Aldia, who had been silently standing behind the two royals, suddenly spoke up.
That voice was somewhat cold.
Shien, Lumia, and Melika hesitated a moment and stopped walking.
Vivian, Ancil, and Lucy raised an eyebrow, but none of them said anything.
Diere on the other hand didn\'t so much as hesitate. Her steps didn\'t even slow down as she straightforwardly left the room.
The atmosphere had turned heavy.
